Mental Health Awareness Month 2025
Turning awareness into action: Join LADA in championing mental wellbeing, reducing stigma, and advocating for accessible care across Africa.
Why Mental Health Matters at LADA
At LADA, mental health is not just a talking point-it's a cornerstone of our survivor-centered and trauma-informed approach. We prioritize the dignity, safety, and psychological healing of survivors of SGBV (Sexual and Gender-Based Violence) and those requiring SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights) services.
- Survivor-Centered Care: Tailored interventions that respect confidentiality and autonomy, with specialized training for staff and partners.
- Trauma-Informed Practices: Safe, non-judgmental environments offering psychological first aid, ongoing counseling, and referrals.
- Integrated SRHR Services: Combining reproductive healthcare with mental health support to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care.
This year, we're amplifying our efforts with community dialogues, expanded services, and advocacy initiatives. Together, we can create a future where mental wellbeing is a shared priority.
Our Story: Turning Awareness into Action
May 2025 marks a renewed commitment by LADA to expand mental health services, foster community awareness, and empower youth and women to lead change. Through training, community dialogues, and integrated care programs, we are creating tangible impact in the lives of many.
Expanding Mental Health Services
At our SRHR and SGBV centers, we now offer counseling, peer support groups, and access to comprehensive care tailored to individual needs.
Empowering Communities
By training youth leaders and women to become mental health advocates, we are creating ripple effects of awareness and action within local communities.
Breaking Down Stigma
Through community dialogues and education, we are encouraging open conversations and building safe spaces for mental health discussions.
Advocacy for Change
LADA advocates for survivor-centered practices by collaborating with health volunteers, building referral pathways, and fostering accountability in service delivery.
